The University of East London, in collaboration with the Global Land Tool Network as facilitated by UN-Habitat; Huairou Commission; Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST); Habitat International Coalition (HIC); and, Housing Rights Land Network (HRLN); have organized a side event titled, “How to develop a multi-stakeholder social contract for effective delivery of the New Urban Agenda and the SDGs” that will take place on Monday, 5 June 2023, 18:15 – 19:15 (EAT) in Conference Room 7.
The objectives of the event are as follows:
1. To bring together all relevant and diverse stakeholders to deliberate and dialogue on inclusive and effective multi-stakeholder participation in fulfilling SDGs and NUA targets.
2. To provide a better understanding of how the UN Habitat Stakeholder Engagement Policy and Mechanism could be put into practice in a manner that captures the potential and perspectives of stakeholders.
3. To consider best practices that inform the framework of a new social contract for sustainable urban development.
