As part of the BMZ-funded “Arab Region Programme on Good Land Governance in Support to Inclusive Development, Peace and Stability”, the Jordan-based organization Rasheed (Transparency International-Jordan) is hosting a three-day online-training event on monitoring land governance in the Arab region, from 14th to 16th December 2020.
The aim of this event is to support national stakeholders with the development of their capacities in collecting, analysing and reporting on land-related data as provided for by the joint module for collecting data and reporting on SDG indicators 1.4.2 and 5.a.1. Key land actors from government institutions, the civil society and other relevant sectors in Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the United Arabic Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Lebanon are invited to join this training to learn, exchange and build their capacities. Learning input will be provided by experts dealing with tools to monitor land governance, such as the Global Land Tool Network, UN-Habitat and the International Land Coalition.
The training will also serve as a basis for a second training covering Arab states in North Africa planned in February 2021 and an Expert Group Meeting in April 2021.
