Much of our work is in customary settings. What does this mean for Housing Land and Property rights?
In the occasion of the Global Protection Forum, the Housing, Land and Property Area of Responsibility of the Global Protection cluster is organizing an online session on Housing, Land and Property Rights as Proactive Protection: Custom, Climate and Community.
This session is an opportunity to consider how securing HLP rights in customary contexts – including working with customary HLP actors and communities – can reduce harm and mitigate protection risks related to safe, secure and dignified shelter and housing.
The session will feature speakers from UN-Habitat, NRC and UNHCR presenting case studies from Afghanistan, Honduras, South Sudan and Uganda. A Q&A will follow the presentations.
The session will take place online, on Zoom, on 25 October 2023 at 3-4:30pm EAT.
