Founded in 1979, Asian NGO Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ANGOC) is a regional association of national and regional networks of non-government organizations (NGO) in Asia actively engaged in food security, agrarian reform, sustainable agriculture, participatory governance and rural development.
ANGOC member networks and partners work in 14 Asian countries with an effective reach of some 3,000 NGOs and community-based organizations (CBOs). ANGOC actively engages in joint field programs and policy debates with national governments, intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), and international financial institutions (IFIs).
The ANGOC network advocates on land and resource rights of the rural poor and promote smallholder agriculture towards sustainable food systems and livelihoods. The network achieves this through a broad platform of Asian NGOs that challenges the development agenda, reforms institutions, and fosters the exchange of critical lessons, tools and approaches towards ensuring food security and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
