UNCCD COP16

The Conference of the Parties (COP) was established by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) as its main decision-making body. The COP has been meeting biennially since 2001 and has held 14 sessions. UNCCD COP15 was held from 9-20 May 2022 in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. The next COP, UNCCD COP16, will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2024.

World Urban Forum 12 (WUF12)

The World Urban Forum (WUF) is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. The WUF12, convened by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), will take place in Cairo, Egypt.
This will be the first time in over 20 years, the forum is returning to the African continent, and it is the first time that it will be held in a megacity.
The deadline for application to partner-led events is 22 April 2024.
The deadline for application to the Urban Cinema is 30 May 2024.
The application for Urban Expo will close on 31 July 2024 (at 23:59 UTC+03:00).

First meeting of the Global Coalition for Social Justice

This is an ILO-convened multistakeholder coalition whose partners convene annually, either remotely or in person, to discuss thematic issues, share best practices, and facilitate knowledge exchange. The meeting may have relevance to tenure security.
